It is that time to register for the Homestead exemption.
Since you bought a home in 2017, you need to register for your homestead
exemption in order to retain your current tax exemption rate.
You may visit your county appraisal district website for
specific forms and instructions, which I have listed below. You will need to
fill out the homestead application specific to your county appraisal district.
Do not reply to any letters from companies stating that they
will file your exemption for you. They charge anywhere from $30 to $100. Filing
the homestead form yourself is easy and FREE !
